Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy praised Osmania University (OU) and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT) for their achievements in semiconductor chip design showcased at the SemiconIndia2025 summit.

On Wednesday, the minister commended these institutions for their significant roles in advancing India’s semiconductor industry. He described their work as a vital step towards making India technologically independent.

Reddy highlighted India’s progress in the semiconductor field, emphasizing the innovation and dedication demonstrated by OU and CBIT. He noted that these efforts showcase the country’s growing expertise in advanced electronics.

Reddy expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for their strategic leadership. They supported the inclusion of OU and CBIT in the government’s Chips to Startup (C2S) program.

This initiative aims to enhance semiconductor design skills in academic institutions, building a sustainable chip design ecosystem in India.
