Osmania University in Hyderabad has made an important decision to align student preparation with industry demands. The university’s administration department will appoint a six-member committee under the Professor of Practice policy to address the faculty shortage and provide students with practical knowledge.

According to Professor D Ravinder Yadav, the Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University, the Professor of Practice policy is being implemented as part of the National Education Policy 2020. The goal is to give students a broader and more realistic understanding of their subjects, beyond what they learn from books. Experienced individuals who have worked for over 30 years in renowned research institutions and have made significant contributions nationally and internationally will be appointed as Professors of Practice.
