Hyderabad: The Political Affairs Committee (PAC) is set to meet on August 23 to discuss the BC reservation issue and local body elections. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had discussions with PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud and other leaders from the BC community.

The meeting will take place at Gandhi Bhavan at 5 PM. The focus will be on key decisions regarding local elections and BC reservations. Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, former MP V Hanumantha Rao, and other leaders will attend.

The High Court has directed that the elections must conclude by the end of next month. However, the central government has not yet resolved the BC reservation matter, raising questions about the election timeline.

Recently, Mahesh Kumar Goud made noteworthy comments. He mentioned in an interview that elections should finish by the end of September, as per the court’s directive. If not, they may seek an extension. He suggested that unresolved reservations could delay the elections. The final decision will be based on the majority view at the PAC meeting. This has sparked interest in whether the ruling party will proceed with elections or request a delay from the court.
