Around 1,325 scholars from Osmania University will receive their PhD degrees during the university’s 83rd convocation on October 31. The event will take place at the Tagore Auditorium at 2 pm. 45 candidates will be awarded 57 gold medals during the ceremony. The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor D Ravinder, announced that Shantanu Narayen, CEO of Adobe Inc. and an alumnus of the university, will receive an honorary doctorate. This is the third consecutive year that the convocation ceremony is being held. Tamilisai Soundararajan, the Chancellor of Osmania University and the Governor of Telangana, will also attend the ceremony.
To be eligible for the PhD degree and gold medals, candidates must have passed their examinations between July 2021 and July 2022. However, degrees awarded from August 6, 2022, to October 10, 2023, will also be considered. Registered PhD degree holders and gold medalists must obtain an entry pass/ID card by presenting their registration receipt at the office of the Controller of Examinations between October 28 and 30 for PhD degree holders and on October 30 for gold medalists, between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.
