Hyderabad: The Cyber Crime Police in Hyderabad have caught six people involved in a Rs 1 crore investment scam with ties to China. These scammers pretended to be from the NSE and Coin SSDCX. They contacted victims via Instagram and Telegram, tricking them into fake online tasks and investments.
The arrested individuals are Addulapuri Harsha Vardhan, Konduru Venu, Mylaram Pradeep, Pachipala Vinodh Yadav, Parasanaboina Vamshi, and Mangali Laxman. They face charges under sections of the IT Act and BNS.
The police explained that the victim, a 34-year-old woman from Tarnaka, was targeted in a cyber scam from January to July 2025. The scammers, posing as officials from NSE and Coin SSDCX, convinced her to engage in online tasks and invest through fake trading links. At first, they gave her small rewards to gain trust. Later, they persuaded her to send large sums for investments, tax clearance, and target approvals. According to RG Siva Maruthi, ACP, Cyber Crime, she transferred a total of Rs 1,05,03,752 as instructed. Her account showed Rs 6.05 crores, but she received no refund, realizing she was cheated out of Rs 1,05,03,752. The police are investigating after registering a case.
