Telangana Police Officer Wins National Award for Fingerprint Expertise
Mahabubabad police officer Eedha Shiva Kumar has won the prestigious Azizul Haque National Award for his expertise in fingerprint technology. He works as a fingerprint expert and Sub-Inspector in the Fingerprint Unit of the CID.
Shiva Kumar secured the first position in the All-India Board Examination for Fingerprint Experts. This exam was conducted by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Although the exam took place in 2023, he recently received the award from Union Minister of State (Home) Nityanand Rai during a meeting of All-India Fingerprint Bureau experts.
Shiva Kumar expressed his pride in being the first person from Telangana to win this prestigious award. His achievement was recognized by senior officials, including DGP (CID & Women Safety Wing) Shikha Goel, State Fingerprint Bureau Director MD Tata Rao, and Mahabubabad Superintendent of Police Sudhir Ramnath Kekan, who congratulated him for bringing honor to Telangana Police.
