The Hyderabad traffic police have started a major campaign to make roads safer by cracking down on rule breakers. During this drive, they issued 14,917 tickets for wrong-side driving and 3,881 for improper number plates.
From May 20 to 26, police focused on drivers who pose risks by going against traffic and using faulty number plates. Many choose wrong-side driving to avoid longer routes, which confuses and endangers others. Faulty number plates are often used to dodge fines.
Police note that despite restrictions, many drivers continue these unsafe habits, leading to chaos and accidents. They stressed the importance of driving correctly to prevent such issues and urged everyone to stay on the right side of the road.
Authorities are calling on the public to follow traffic laws for a safer Hyderabad. They encourage drivers to display their number plates clearly and not hide their identity.
Residents can report traffic violations through the Hyderabad Traffic Police on Facebook and X (Twitter), or call the Traffic Help Line at 9010203626.
