Hyderabad faced another drug-related incident recently. On Friday, May 30, authorities in the Cyberabad Commissionerate intercepted a significant haul of heroin. The SOT police seized 1.5 kilograms of the drug.
Reports indicate the police acted on a tip-off about drug smugglers operating from a dhaba located in Shadnagar, near the city’s edge. In a swift raid, they confiscated not only heroin but also ganja and OPM drugs.
The seized drugs are valued at over Rs. 3 crore. However, the complete details of the case remain undisclosed.
With government initiatives to combat drugs harming young people, the police are enforcing stringent measures. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed efforts to make Telangana drug-free. Consequently, the police conduct frequent inspections and are actively arresting those involved in drug smuggling.
