The Telangana Police is getting ready for the State Assembly elections, which will be held in the next 5-6 months. The police officials are clearing out cases related to election-related offences and crimes that happened during the 2018 assembly elections. They want to make sure the elections are peaceful and fair.

The police will investigate cases involving cash seizure, assault on rival party leaders and workers, booth capturing, misuse of official machinery, promoting enmity between groups, castes and religion, and corruption by election officials. They will prepare a report on their findings.

Many leaders, including BRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy, Minister T Harish Rao, and BJP State unit chief Bandi Sanjay are facing charges for violating election code or making remarks against their rivals. However, these cases are not serious election-related offences.
