Hyderabad: DK Aruna, BJP National Vice-President and Member of Parliament from Mahabubnagar, said that the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, has approved the new ‘Ummid’ Act. This law brings changes to the Waqf system and is seen as an important moment in the country’s history.

Speaking on Sunday, Aruna said it was a meaningful day since the President signed the Waqf Amendment Bill on the festival of Sri Rama Navami. She explained that this new law will help provide justice to thousands of people affected by Waqf-related issues across India. Many disputes involving land under Waqf can now be resolved, and the act will help protect Muslim Waqf properties.

She also made it clear that the act does not allow for mosques or graveyards to be taken over. Aruna called such claims false and said the law contains no such provisions.

According to Aruna, the law will stop people from taking advantage of the Waqf system and ensure that justice is given to everyone involved. She added that the Waqf Board, which was meant to support the community, has not been serving its true purpose for many years.

With the new law, she believes that Muslim women, widows, and the poor will finally receive the help they need. The act is meant to correct long-standing problems and dishonest practices within the Waqf system.

Aruna ended by thanking people across the country who supported the bill. She also expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju for making the new Waqf law a reality.
