Surmangadal, in partnership with Telangana Tourism, hosted a Hindustani classical music concert featuring Pt. Shubhendra Rao on Sitar and Vidushi Dr. Ashwini Bhide on Vocal at Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture & Fine Arts University (JNAFAU) in Hyderabad. The event, called Morning Raaga, took place on Sunday at Masab Tank.
Pt. Shubhendra Rao, a well-known performer and composer with international acclaim, delighted the audience with his Sitar performance. Trained by Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar, Rao is recognized not only for his mastery of the instrument but also for his ability to connect different musical traditions.
Vidushi Ashwini Bhide Deshpande, a renowned Hindustani classical vocalist known for her nuanced approach to music, also captivated the audience with her performance. Her intellectually driven style of singing left a lasting impression on the listeners.
Pt. Ram Kumar Mishra was accompanied by Tanay Rege on Tabla and Dnyaneshwar Sonawane on Harmonium during the concert. Together, they provided a mesmerizing accompaniment to the musicians on stage.
