Hyderabad: Union Minister G Kishan Reddy praised NALCO and HCL for their outstanding economic success. He noted that these Central Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are now profitable due to reforms led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the past decade.
Public sector undertakings, once seen as financial burdens, are now thriving and crucial to the nation’s economy. Their success is helping India move towards self-reliance.
The Union Minister highlighted that NALCO set new performance records in 2024-25, a first since its start in 1981, contributing greatly to economic growth. Likewise, HCL achieved its highest growth in the same year, following NALCO's lead. Both companies are shining examples in the mining and minerals field, showcasing their ability to compete globally.
According to Reddy, these positive changes began after the Modi government took office in 2014. Innovations and reforms were implemented, boosting PSUs’ efficiency. These accomplishments are significantly boosting the economy, aligning with the vision of a developed India by 2047.
