Mahabubnagar: The Quit India Movement was vital for India’s independence, stated DCC President and Devarakadra MLA G Madhusudan Reddy. The district headquarters Congress office marked Quit India Day on Saturday.
Madhusudan Reddy raised the national flag during the event. He mentioned that when the freedom struggle reached a critical point, many people across India joined the Quit India Movement, responding to Mahatma Gandhi’s call.
He remembered that Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister, introduced significant economic reforms to help the nation’s growth. Reddy claimed that India’s global competitiveness today is due to Nehru’s efforts. He accused BJP leaders of spreading misinformation about Nehru.
Reddy also mentioned that under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s leadership, the Telangana government is working for the welfare of all communities.
Prominent attendees included State Minority Finance Corporation Chairman Obedulla Kotwal, MUDA Chairman Laxman Yadav, District Library Chairman Mallu Narasimha Reddy, Market Committee Chairperson Bekkari Anita, and former Municipal Chairman Anand Kumar Goud, along with leaders Vinod Kumar, SP Venkatesh, Chandrakumar Goud, Anwar Pasha, CJ Benahar, Aravind Reddy, Siraj Khadri, Saibaba, Azmat Ali, and Awaiz.
