Hyderabad: Following Sonia Gandhi’s praise for Telangana’s Socio-Economic Caste Survey, Rahul Gandhi applauded the initiative on Friday. He described it as “visionary and inclusive,” highlighting its potential to shape India’s progress.
On Twitter, Rahul expressed pride in the deep connection created by Sonia’s efforts to form Telangana. He commended the Congress government for its dedication to an inclusive survey process, setting a high standard for future Census exercises.
The survey led to a proposal for 42% OBC reservations in local elections and educational institutions, pending presidential approval. Rahul credited the Telangana Model with pioneering “Social Justice 2.0,” emphasizing its importance for India’s future.
After Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the survey in Delhi, Rahul shared his initial skepticism about the project but acknowledged its success as a landmark for social justice. He noted that Telangana stands out in using survey data for targeted development.
Chief Minister Reddy, excited by Sonia’s commendation, likened her letter to prestigious awards. He considered it a significant honor, regardless of his future positions.
