Gadwal: Students from Uppairu village staged a protest in heavy rain, blocking an RTC bus for more than an hour. They demanded another bus service because students from seven nearby villages face overcrowding on the current bus.
The students stopped the bus running between Uppairu and Netteampadu, asking for an immediate solution. With more students this year, traveling on one bus is unsafe and difficult.
Despite the rain, the students insisted on their protest, blocking the road and keeping the bus from moving. They want another bus during school hours for safer travel.
Students told reporters they endure unsafe, crowded conditions daily. “We come from seven villages and can’t all fit in one bus. We need another bus now,” they said.
They asked the Gadwal RTC Depot Manager to fix the problem quickly. They threatened to hold a larger protest at the Gadwal district headquarters if their needs aren’t met soon.
This event stresses the need for better transportation for rural students and the importance of safe travel options. Local people and parents support the students and urge quick action from officials.
