Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are set to experience more rain in the coming days. Weather experts predict ongoing showers due to a new low-pressure area forming. The recent trough’s effects are fading, but this new system is expected to bring additional rainfall.
The monsoon season has already brought nearly constant rain to both states. Some areas have seen particularly heavy showers. A previous weather system in the Bay of Bengal caused several days of continuous rain. Now, the Meteorological Department reports a new low-pressure area in the west-central Bay of Bengal, linked to a cyclone.
This system may move northwest and turn into a depression by Thursday, October 2. It could affect the southern Odisha and northern Andhra coasts by Friday morning. Authorities have issued a week-long warning for AP, including a yellow alert for Parvathipuram, Manyam, Alluri, Kakinada, Konaseema, East Godavari, West Godavari, Nellore, and Tirupati districts. Eluru and Krishna districts may see moderate rain.
In Telangana, the Hyderabad Meteorological Department expects moderate to heavy rain over the next three to four days. Light to moderate showers are likely in different areas. Mulugu, Kothagudem, Khammam, and Mahabubabad might face heavier rain with thunder, lightning, and strong winds on Thursday and Friday.
