Weather experts predict more rain in the coastal and Rayalaseema areas of Andhra Pradesh starting on the 17th of this month. Heavy rain is expected for three days from the 18th. After active monsoon weeks in central and northern India, the monsoon is set to intensify in the southern states soon.
Telangana will see light rain during the same three days due to a surface trough forming in the Bay of Bengal. The rain might come with gusty winds of 30-40 km/h, and there is a chance of thunder and lightning in several places. Officials advise people to stay alert as weather conditions might change.
The Meteorological Department also mentioned that the stronger monsoon could create new low-pressure areas in the Bay of Bengal.
