Khammam: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be the main guest at the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations. This was announced by BJP national leader Dr. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, who also oversees Tamil Nadu and Telangana for the party. While speaking in Subledu village, Tirumalayapalem Mandal, Reddy emphasized the BJP’s dedication to preserving Telangana’s history of bravery and sacrifice.
The event is part of a week-long campaign by the BJP to honor Telangana Liberation Day. During the event, Reddy revealed a statue of freedom fighter Shoaibullah Khan, who died defending journalistic principles against the Nizam’s rule. Reddy stressed that Khan’s values should be taught in schools, highlighting his dedication to truth.
To support local journalism, Reddy donated Rs 10,000 to a fund for rural journalists. He pointed out the BJP’s commitment to grassroots journalism.
Reddy criticized the current Congress government in Telangana for poorly handling the urea supply crisis, which has left farmers struggling. “Farmers are forced to wait long hours for fertilizers without any festive or weather-related issues,” he noted. He blamed the State Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao for the situation, accusing the government of turning ministers into contractors and vice versa, calling it an example of Congress-style political misconduct.
