The Masab Tank police in Hyderabad have launched a manhunt to apprehend Aman Preet Singh, brother of popular actress Rakul Preet Singh, in connection with a drugs case. The accused is currently absconding, and police teams have been formed to trace his whereabouts.
DCP West Zone Ch. Srinivas confirmed that on December 19, police arrested two men for possession, transportation and sale of Cocaine and MDMA. The arrested individuals have been identified as Nitin Singhania, a 35-year-old real estate broker from Malakpet, and Shranik Singhvi, a 36-year-old businessman from Troop Bazaar.
The case was registered following a complaint filed by a sub-inspector of Masab Tank police station after a drug seizure near Chacha Nehru Park on December 19. Police intercepted a grey car near the park parking area based on specific intelligence about a planned drug delivery.
During the search operation, officers recovered 43.7 grams of cocaine and 11.5 grams of MDMA concealed in the dashboard of the vehicle. The drugs were immediately verified on the spot by the clues team.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly revealed they were procuring cocaine and MDMA from a Nigerian supplier using a mobile contact saved under a pseudonym. The deliveries were being made in Hyderabad through African couriers, with the drugs intended for sale to a limited group of consumers in the city.
On December 24, police arrested two African nationals in connection with the case. During their interrogation, four drug consumer names were disclosed, including Aman Preet Singh.
This is not the first time Aman Preet Singh has been linked to drug-related cases. He was previously named as an accused in an earlier drugs case registered by Cyberabad police, including one at Narsingi.
Police are currently working to identify and locate the main supplier and intermediaries involved in the drug supply chain. The case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 22(b)(c), 27(a), 27(A) and 29 of the NDPS Act, read with relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Investigators have formed special teams to trace and apprehend the absconding accused and are pursuing all leads in the ongoing investigation.
