Khanapur: Abhilasha Abhinav, the Nirmal District Collector, emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring everyone who qualifies receives a ration card.
On Wednesday, local leaders, along with Vedma Bojju Patel, distributed new ration cards to recipients at the Sattenapelli Gram Rythu Vedika in Khanapur mandal.
The Collector highlighted that these new ration cards are a significant benefit for the needy. In Khanapur mandal, 1,669 new cards have been issued, and 2,532 cards have been updated to include additional family members. Starting next month, beneficiaries will receive fine rice. Those who are still eligible but without a card can apply, as the distribution is ongoing.
So far, 4,201 new ration cards have been approved in the mandal. In Dasturabad mandal, 1,352 new cards have been sanctioned.
MLA Bojju Patel noted the challenges people faced over the last decade due to the absence of new cards. This situation affected the distribution of benefits like pensions, farmer loan waivers, and Yuva Kiranalu. He stated that the government is now effectively rolling out initiatives such as interest-free loans for women, the Mahalaxmi free bus, 200 units of free electricity, gas at Rs. 500, and Aarogyasri.
