Hanumakonda: In the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya stated that the Centre must ensure justice for the State. She urged immediate steps for the allocation of coal and electricity to the State and criticized the ongoing ‘injustice’ regarding essential resources.
Industries and power firms are struggling due to a fuel shortage, according to the MP. She called for new coal blocks to be allocated to Singareni Collieries to address this issue. Strengthening SCCL is vital for providing uninterrupted power to the people of Telangana.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy replied in writing to Dr. Kavya’s concerns. He assured that coal allocation in Telangana follows transparent and rule-based processes similar to other States. The Centre considers State requests and will review Dr. Kavya’s suggestions to improve policies for companies like SCCL.
Dr. Kavya also stressed the importance of reallocating unsuccessful coal blocks from private entities to government enterprises.
