The BRS is upset over the sudden arrest of MLC K Kavitha on Friday. Party leaders were surprised and shocked by the arrest. While party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao has not reacted, party working president K T Rama Rao expressed strong objection to the arrest. He mentioned that the arrest violated the undertaking given by the probe agency in the Supreme Court. The ED had promised not to take coercive steps until the court hearing on March 19, but they arrested Kavitha on a Friday evening and took her to Delhi, which they believe was a politically motivated move.

Party leaders claim that the arrest will affect their campaign efforts. BJP leader Prakash Reddy denied the allegations, stating that the arrest was purely an ED action and had no political motive. He clarified that the case was related to Delhi government’s liquor policy and had no connection to Telangana or the previous state government.

Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy suggested that the arrest was a result of collaboration between BJP and BRS to showcase zero tolerance towards corruption and secure more Lok Sabha seats.
