Revanth Reddy’s recent comments about providing 8 hours of free electricity for farmers have caused a lot of controversy in Telangana. The ruling party, BRS, has been protesting against him and spreading false information. Revanth Reddy took to Twitter to defend himself and said that even if the Kalvakuntla siblings try to target the Congress on the issue of ‘three hours power’, they will not come to power for the third time. He also stated that the Congress will come to power and provide 24-hour quality free electricity to farmers. A video of Manik Rao Thakre, the Congress Telangana in-charge, speaking about this was attached to the tweet with a ‘Bye Bye KCR’ hashtag. These comments by Revanth Reddy have sparked controversy because he claimed that 3 hours of electricity is enough for a farmer who farms in 3 acres, even though 95 percent of Telangana’s farmers are small and marginal.
