Congress, BRS, and BJP Clash in Telangana Politics

In Hyderabad, political tensions are escalating as the Congress, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) engage in heated confrontations. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) has accused some government officials, including district collectors and police personnel, of acting as Congress supporters. Meanwhile, the BJP has announced state-wide protests from December 1 to 5 to highlight what it claims are the failures of the current government.

State Government Prepares for Counterattack

The state government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, plans to respond to these allegations during a public meeting on December 9. As part of its strategy, the government intends to present a comprehensive report on alleged “land scams” that occurred during the BRS regime. Following this, an Assembly session will be convened to discuss the findings.

Sources indicate that the State Revenue Department has been tasked with investigating cases of illegal land occupation by BRS leaders, particularly in Hyderabad. This investigation aims to uncover instances of land encroachments and collusion between influential BRS leaders and real estate companies during the past decade.

Focus on Encroachments and Land Deals

Senior officials in the Revenue Department are reportedly updating Revenue Minister P. Srinivas Reddy on these land-related violations. Allegations suggest that the BRS government sold valuable government land at reduced prices to benefit a few major real estate companies, generating funds to address financial shortfalls. The Congress, while in opposition, had accused the BRS of lowering market values in Hyderabad to favor these companies.

A senior official revealed that a detailed report has been prepared to expose how the BRS leadership exploited government land for personal gains. This report will include evidence of illegal land sales and encroachments.

The probe is also looking into government lands embroiled in legal disputes, particularly in areas like Kukatpally, Serilingampally, Jubilee Hills, Uppal, and LB Nagar. These lands were allegedly encroached upon and later regularized under false names by local BRS leaders. Officials are currently gathering details about these cases, including transactions where lands were sold for residential and commercial purposes.

Dharani Portal Allegations

Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has accused BRS leaders of misusing the Dharani portal—a digital land records system—to acquire premium properties in Hyderabad and other urban areas. He vowed to expose every instance of land grabbing and make the findings public.

The state government’s upcoming Assembly session is expected to shed light on these allegations, setting the stage for a significant political showdown.
