Bhadradri Kothagudem: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy visited a family in Sarapaka village, located in Burgampahad mandal, to launch a new government scheme that provides better quality rice to poor households. During his visit, he shared a traditional meal with the family to mark the beginning of the fine rice distribution programme.
The Chief Minister had earlier attended the religious ceremony of Sri Sitarama Swamy’s celestial wedding in Bhadrachalam. After the event, he visited the home of Bura Srinivas. He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, ministers Tummala Nageswara Rao, Konda Surekha, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari.
While dining with the family, Revanth Reddy spoke to them about their living conditions. He asked Tulasiamma, a family member, how they felt about the new rice being distributed. She explained that when only coarse rice was available, they were not very interested in collecting it. However, the fine rice now being provided is much better and more useful for the family.
The Chief Minister also asked if the family was receiving other government benefits, such as 200 units of free electricity and ₹500 gas cylinders. Tulasiamma mentioned that the free bus travel scheme has also been very helpful to them.
This visit and shared meal officially launched the fine rice scheme, which is one of several welfare programmes introduced by the state government to support families with low incomes.
