Chief Minister Revanth Reddy honored women’s contributions, highlighting that Telangana’s formation was largely due to Sonia Gandhi, known as the ‘Iron Lady’. He stated his government focuses on empowering women.
The International Women’s Day event, celebrated at Praja Bhavan on Sunday, saw the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other ministers. During his speech, Revanth Reddy reaffirmed his dedication to acknowledging women’s successes. He pointed out that the Congress party has a history of giving important roles to women nationwide and praised the efficient management by women officers in significant departments.
He mentioned that women own 1,000 buses and that products made by women in Telangana are now available globally on Amazon. The Chief Minister also recognized the government’s special acknowledgment of women journalists and applauded their contribution to recent Maoist surrenders, expressing optimism for their future advancement.
Revanth Reddy emphasized that women receive free travel and managerial roles, yet their efforts often go unnoticed. He stressed that the country’s economic growth relies on enhancing women’s economic status and criticized caste and gender bias, likening it to the recognition of hard work in America.
He urged all institutions to work together to support women and suggested that challenging oppressive beliefs will lead to positive outcomes.
