    New Flights from Hyderabad to Six Cities Announced by IndiGo

    Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has introduced new direct flights by IndiGo to six important cities in India. Starting in late September 2024, these routes will improve domestic air connectivity and make travel more convenient for passengers. Hyderabad is expected to become a central hub for people exploring different regions and cultures in India.

    Details of the New Routes:

    1. Agartala (IXA): Known as the “Gateway to the Northeast,” Agartala will have flights from Hyderabad four times a week starting on 23rd September. Flights will leave at 07:30 AM and reach Agartala by 10:20 AM.

    2. Jammu (IXJ): Famous as the “City of Temples,” Jammu will be connected to Hyderabad three times a week starting 24th September. Flights will depart at 07:05 AM and arrive at 10:10 AM.

    3. Agra (AGR): Known worldwide for the Taj Mahal, Agra will have flights three times a week starting on 28th September. Flights will leave Hyderabad at 01:55 PM and arrive in Agra by 04:05 PM.

    4. Kanpur (KNU): Called the “Leather City of the World,” Kanpur will be connected four times a week starting from 27th September. Flights will depart at 08:55 AM and land in Kanpur at 11:00 AM.

    5. Ayodhya (AYJ): Known as the “Birthplace of Lord Rama,” Ayodhya will have flights four times a week starting from 27th September. The flights will depart at 01:55 PM and arrive at 04:05 PM.

    6. Prayagraj (IXD): Formerly known as Allahabad and famous for the “City of Kumbh Mela,” Prayagraj will have flights three times a week starting on 28th September. Flights will leave at 08:55 AM and reach Prayagraj by 10:50 AM.

    Comments on the New Routes:

    Mr. Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GHIAL, expressed his excitement about the new routes. He said these flights will make it easier for travelers to explore India’s diverse cultures and landscapes. He also emphasized that the expansion strengthens Hyderabad’s role as a major airport and supports the growth of the cities connected by these new flights.

    Rajiv Gandhi International Airport's Role:

    With these new routes, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) will be connected to over 75 domestic and 18 international destinations. The airport already offers quick access to major Indian cities in less than two hours of flight time, and to the Middle East in around four hours. The airport has a unique facility in South and Central India called the Single Roof Integrated Terminal, making it a preferred transfer hub for travelers heading to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
