Gadwal: Rural women are taking steps toward entrepreneurship thanks to the RAMP Initiative by the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP). This program, held at the Mahila Samakhya office in Jogulamba Gadwal, aims to empower women and boost small businesses.

SERP, in partnership with the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) and Telangana's Department of Industries, organized a one-day event to inspire women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to pursue industrial and business ventures. Mr. Ramalingeshwar Goud, the General Manager of the District Industries Centre, highlighted the importance of equipping rural women with the tools to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs through training and financial support.

He explained that this initiative aligns with the Telangana Government's mission to achieve inclusive growth by empowering women at the grassroots level. The program not only raises awareness but also aims to establish a solid foundation for sustainable micro-enterprises.

SERP plays a crucial role in promoting women’s empowerment by forming SHGs, ensuring financial inclusion, providing micro-credit access, and developing skills in enterprise management and marketing. They also support business registration and connect women with banks for credit and subsidy assistance.

After the awareness session, a 15-day training program will be offered to selected women. This training will cover industry-specific skills, business planning, product development, marketing strategies, and practical knowledge for managing micro-industries.

A key feature of this initiative is the comprehensive support provided to participants. Alongside training, SERP will help women register their businesses and secure bank loans to establish viable income-generating units.

Director Madhavi, District Project Manager Ramamurthy, and other local SHG federation members attended the session. They shared success stories and offered guidance on utilizing government schemes and resources.

Participants expressed excitement and gratitude for the chance to enhance their skills and pursue self-employment. The event highlighted the crucial role of grassroots awareness in enabling rural women to overcome poverty and drive local economic growth.

Under SERP’s leadership, Telangana continues to lead in rural women’s empowerment and inclusive entrepreneurship.
