Telangana to Launch ‘Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa Scheme’ on January 26

The Telangana government is introducing a new scheme called the “Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa scheme,” which will start on January 26. As part of the scheme, farmers will receive financial support of Rs 12,000 per acre for their cultivable lands. Additionally, agricultural laborers will be given Rs 12,000 per year as financial assistance.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy announced this decision during a press conference on Saturday evening. He stated that the cabinet had taken three major decisions to kickstart the new year, including issuing new ration cards starting this month.

The Chief Minister addressed confusion surrounding the Rythu Bharosa scheme and clarified that the new program will benefit all farmers without restrictions on land ownership size. Unlike the previous Rythu Bandhu scheme, only cultivable lands are eligible for benefits. Non-cultivable lands, such as mining, unused, and industrial lands, are excluded.

Revanth Reddy emphasized that the primary goal of the scheme is to boost state revenues and ensure that wealth is distributed to those in need. He also mentioned that as the state’s financial resources grow, the government plans to increase the scheme’s benefits. The Revenue Department is preparing a detailed report on cultivable lands, and farmers are being asked to submit details about their lands before the scheme is launched.

Government officials revealed that discussions are underway to increase the financial assistance to Rs 14,000 per acre in 2026 and Rs 15,000 in 2027. The Congress party had promised Rs 15,000 per acre under the Rythu Bharosa scheme during the elections, but current financial challenges have delayed this commitment.

To address these challenges, Revanth explained that the government has opted for a gradual increase in benefits over the next few years, ensuring that farmers receive steady and growing support.
