SCB’s sewer robot aims to replace manual scavenging

Hyderabad: The Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) has received a new sewer cleaning robot called HomoSep, along with a suction cum jetting machine. The total cost of the equipment is Rs 60 lakh.

The machines were provided by Wells Fargo in collaboration with Solinas Integrity Pvt Ltd, a company specializing in innovative solutions. Solinas is based at IIT Madras in Chennai.

At the handover event, Nitesh, the technical head, and Vishwanath, the CSR head from Solinas, explained how the sewer robot and the suction cum jetting machine work. They emphasized the importance of these machines in putting an end to the dangerous and outdated practice of manual scavenging.
