Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has earned a record-breaking income of ₹501.72 crore by selling scrap during the financial year 2024-25.
This amount is higher than the target of ₹430 crore set by the Railway Board and also more than last year’s revenue of ₹411.39 crore. SCR has been focusing on using its resources efficiently by selling scrap through online auctions.
These auctions are held on the Indian Railways E-Procurement System (IREPS) portal, which makes the process more transparent and easier for bidders to take part in.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of SCR, said that using digital methods has helped bring the railways and bidders closer. He also encouraged railway staff to continue working hard and aim for even better results in the future.
