South Central Railway Introduces Experimental Stoppage of Rajdhani Express at Yadgir Station

South Central Railways (SCR) has announced an experimental stoppage at Yadgir railway station for Train No. 22692 (Hazrat Nizamuddin – KSR Bengaluru Rajdhani Express). The new service will be flagged off by Somanna, Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, on Tuesday.

Yadgir railway station, located in the Guntakal division of SCR, is classified as a non-suburban Grade-3 (NSG-3) station. It serves as the district headquarters and provides vital rail connectivity for nearby villages. With an average daily footfall of around 10,000 passengers and revenue of ₹8 lakh, the station plays an essential role in the region’s transportation network.

For years, there has been a strong demand from locals for the Rajdhani Express to stop at Yadgir station. This train connects key cities like New Delhi and Bengaluru, offering faster and more comfortable travel options. Responding to this demand, the Ministry of Railways has approved the stoppage of Train No. 22691 (KSR Bengaluru – Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express) and Train No. 22692 at Yadgir station.

The schedule for Train No. 22692 is as follows: it departs from Hazrat Nizamuddin at 7:50 am, reaches Yadgir at 8:38 pm the next day, and arrives in Bengaluru at 5:20 am on the second day. On its return journey, Train No. 22691 departs from Bengaluru at 8:00 pm, reaches Yadgir at 3:05 am the next day, and arrives at Hazrat Nizamuddin at 5:30 am on the second day.

The Rajdhani Express covers approximately 483 kilometers in eight and a half hours between Yadgir and Bengaluru, and 1,882 kilometers in 26 and a half hours between Yadgir and New Delhi. In addition to Delhi and Bengaluru, the train also provides convenient travel options for passengers heading to destinations such as Agra, Gwalior, Jhansi, Bhopal, Itarsi, Nagpur, Kazipet, and Secunderabad.

By introducing this new stoppage, SCR aims to enhance travel convenience for Yadgir residents and surrounding communities, enabling them to access longer-distance destinations with ease and comfort.
