Taskforce officials in Leeja town started inspecting seed shops in preparation for the rainy season. Farmers buy a lot of seeds like cotton, chilli, coriander, and castor before the monsoon, so officials want to make sure they are only buying reputable brands.

The task force team member, Nageswara Rao, warned that farmers could face consequences if they unknowingly plant fake seeds. This warning comes after a report by The Hans India on counterfeit seeds that was published on May 25.

Shop owners were told to give farmers original receipts when they buy seeds. The operation included participation from AO Shankar Lal, Head Constable Amarnath, and others.
