District Collector C Narayana Reddy has given instructions to the organizers of paddy procurement centres. He asked them to buy fine variety and coarse variety paddy separately. He also requested farmers to bring these varieties separately to the centres for easier processing.
On Tuesday, the Collector opened a paddy procurement centre at a special event. The event was organized by the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society at the agricultural market yard in Thipparthy Mandal, Nalgonda district.
The Collector informed everyone that the State government had announced that starting from January 1, fine rice will be provided to people through fair price shops. To prepare for this, they are purchasing fine variety paddy separately, which will benefit both farmers and those who hold ration cards.
He also advised farmers not to sell their paddy to private millers. Instead, they should bring it to the procurement centres. Since there is a chance of rain in the coming month, he instructed the centres to make sure they have proper arrangements to protect the paddy from getting wet.
Additional Collector J Srinivas and other officials also spoke during the event. Agricultural Market Committee Chairman Jukkuri Ramesh, DCCB Director Sampath Reddy, and other officials were also present.
