In Hyderabad, the State government has decided to appoint IAS officers as temporary Vice-Chancellors for universities. The Students Federation of India (SFI) in Telangana is urging the government to quickly appoint permanent Vice-Chancellors instead.

SFI State Secretary T Nagaraju is questioning why IAS officers are being appointed as temporary V-Cs when the regular V-Cs’ term is ending soon. The SFI members want experienced administrators to be appointed as V-Cs without any political interference, to maintain social balance.

The SFI is emphasizing the need for prompt appointments of regular V-Cs by the State government, without relying on IAS officers.
