Hyderabad: SHE Teams Rescue Girl Trapped by Instagram Friend

A girl was rescued by the Hyderabad SHE Teams after being locked in a hotel room by a person she met on Instagram. The incident took place in Narayanguda, where the girl had been trapped for 20 days.

The girl’s parents, who live in Bhainsa, Nizamabad district, reported the situation to the police. They explained that their daughter had called them and shared her location through WhatsApp, revealing that a friend had threatened her and forced her to come to Hyderabad. She had been held against her will for nearly three weeks.

The worried parents quickly traveled to Hyderabad and sought help from the SHE Teams, a special police unit dedicated to protecting women. Acting swiftly, the SHE Teams tracked the girl’s location and found her locked in a hotel room. She was safely rescued, and a criminal case was filed against the person responsible at the Narayanaguda police station.

Another Case of Harassment at Culinary Academy

In a separate incident, SHE Teams received a complaint from a student at a well-known culinary academy in Hyderabad. The student reported that she had been facing harassment from some of her classmates. The group had been teasing her, making inappropriate gestures, and passing vulgar comments, causing her significant mental distress.

Upon investigating the complaint, the SHE Teams registered a criminal case against the students involved at the Punjagutta police station. The charges reflect the seriousness of the harassment. Additionally, SHE Teams issued a warning to the college administration, urging them to take preventive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of their students.
