Amer Ali Khan, the distinguished Editor of the renowned Urdu newspaper Siasat Daily, is rumored to have been finalized as a candidate for the Member of Legislative Council (MLC) position. According to reliable sources, the official announcement regarding Amer Ali Khan’s candidacy is imminent. Amer Ali Khan’s potential nomination comes with the expectation that he will be enlisted under the Governor’s Quota.

In addition to Amer Ali Khan, other notable names being considered for MLC positions include Bomma Mahesh Kumar Goud and Addanki Dayakar, who are likely to be nominated under the MLA quota. Telangana Jana Samithi president, Prof Kodandaram, is also in the running, adding further intrigue to the impending MLC elections.

The MLC polls under the MLA quota are scheduled to take place on January 29, 2024. However, a delay in finalizing the nominations is anticipated as the state Cabinet is expected to recommend the candidacies of Prof Kodandaram and Amer Ali Khan after Revanth Reddy returns from the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Thee Election Commission of India (ECI) will conduct separate elections for the two vacant MLC posts under the MLA quota. Given the Congress party’s majority in the Assembly, it is anticipated that the party will secure victories in both seats, further solidifying its position in the state legislature.
