Sikhs Commemorate 348th Martyrdom Anniversary of Ninth Sikh Guru with Genuine Devotion

The 348th Martyrdom of Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahibji was celebrated with joy and devotion in Hyderabad. The Guru made great sacrifices for the nation and many Sikh devotees from different parts of the State gathered at Municipal Grounds, Chilkalguda, Sitafalmandi, Secunderabad to offer prayers to the holy scripture of the Sikhs, Guru Granth Sahibji.

The event was organized by the Prabhandak Committee of Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Sitafalmandi. The congregation included recitations of Shabad Keertans and Kathas by invited guests from various parts of the country. The focus was on imbibing higher values of life and promoting communal harmony, as taught by the Sikh Gurus.

After the congregation, a traditional community lunch called Guru-ka-Langar was served to all devotees. In the evening, a colorful Nagar Keertan took place, starting from Gurudwara Sitafalmandi and passing through different areas before returning to Gurudwara Saheb, Sitafalmandi at night. The procession included religious flags, display of Gatka skills (sword fighting), and hymn renditions by group preachers.

Overall, it was a day of celebration and reflection on the teachings of Sikh Gurus, emphasizing national integration, peace, brotherhood, and communal harmony.
