Skill Vigyan programme at OU in Hyderabad concludes after two weeks

The Vice Chancellor of Osmania University, Professor D Ravinder, was the chief guest at the two-week CPMB valedictory programme. He emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas in the modern world. The programme was sponsored by Skill Vigyan and conducted at the Centre for Plant Molecular Biology at Osmania University.

Professor Ahmed Kamal from BITS-Pilani Hyderabad was the guest of honour. He highlighted the significance of practical training for faculty members.

The programme trained 20 faculty members from UG and PG colleges and Universities across the country in advanced areas of life sciences and biotechnology.

Dr Rama Krishna Kancha, the Director of CPMB, informed that the participants also received training in advanced instrumentation, entrepreneurship, and intellectual property rights. They also had hands-on practical sessions. The participants expressed their satisfaction with the lectures delivered by faculty members from Central universities and national institutes.

During the programme, Professor K V Rao, former Director of CPMB, was felicitated for receiving the award of Senior Scientist of the National Academy of Sciences India. He will avail the award at CPMB in the next three years.
