Hyderabad: The BC leaders from the BRS party expressed concerns about the government’s plans for BC reservations. They called for elections to be held only after implementing 42% reservations.

During a press conference at Telangana Bhavan on Friday, these leaders spoke about the increasing pressure on the government due to the BC movement. MLA Talasani Srinivasa Yadav emphasized that local body elections should proceed only after fulfilling the 42% reservation promise, in line with the Kamareddy Declaration.

Srinivasa Yadav mentioned their efforts on behalf of BRS in the Assembly and beyond. Despite sending the bill to the Centre via the governor, there are attempts to bypass it with an ordinance. Based on past experiences, he expressed skepticism about the government’s actions, insisting that elections should only follow after the 42% reservation is in place to address their concerns.
