Adilabad: Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahajan is cracking down on land fraudsters in the district. These individuals are deceiving and extorting money from innocent residents.
In the past month, over 10 cases have been filed in Adilabad district, and 9 individuals have been detained. The SP emphasized that those preying on innocent people, particularly through fraudulent document creation, will face serious legal consequences.
On May 16, Mohammad Akram was apprehended, and a case was filed against Syed Shahabuddin at the 1-Town Police Station for attempting to illegally claim municipal land.
On May 22, based on a complaint from victim Are Sudarshan, three individuals—Navaneeth, Gandrath Mahender, and Padala Chetan Kumar—were implicated in a fraud case in Mahalakshmi Wada.
On May 23, in Indravelli Mandal, a case was initiated against non-tribals for demanding money while unlawfully building a house. Police detained Gavande Bipin Kumar, Vipin, and Mesram Anand Rao.
On May 26, Naitam Balu was charged after victim Manikchand accused him of demanding Rs 5 lakh, taking Rs 3 lakh, and blackmailing him.
The same day, Konduru Gangadhar was arrested for abusing his position to illegally allocate and register government land.
Also on May 26, Sajjarapu Lakshminarayana was arrested for selling the same plot to two people with fake documents, following a complaint by Mallepula Chandrashekhar Goud.
Former Talamadugu village Sarpanch Karunakar Reddy was arrested for fraudulently registering 25 acres of land using fake certificates near Kajjarla village.
Under SP Akhil Mahajan’s leadership, the police are acting swiftly on fraud complaints. The district police aim to eliminate illegal registrations, fraudulent activities, and misuse of laws. Residents are urged to verify documents thoroughly before registering any property.
