Hyderabad: Sunita Rao, the president of TPCC (Women Wing), accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of deceiving women by not implementing women’s reservation in legislative bodies. She claimed that Modi was using political tactics to gain the support of women voters in the upcoming elections. Sunita criticized the lack of a specific timeframe for enforcing the law and stated that women would not forgive Modi for this deception.
Sunita also criticized the Modi government for not taking action to protect women from increasing attacks across the country. She emphasized that after passing the Women’s Reservation Bill, it required census and delimitation of constituencies, indicating that Modi was not interested in implementing women’s reservations within a reasonable timeframe.
Furthermore, Sunita questioned the Union Government regarding the delay in conducting the census for the past three years. She stated that people would only trust Modi if the reservation was implemented in the upcoming elections.
