AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has urged citizens to submit their Special Intensive Revision (SIR) Enumeration Forms even if they do not currently possess all the required documents. Addressing concerns over the ongoing electoral roll revision process, Owaisi assured voters that the absence of supporting documents should not prevent them from filing their forms. He emphasized that the immediate priority is to ensure that every eligible voter submits the Enumeration Form within the stipulated time frame to protect their voting rights.
The AIMIM chief has appealed to the public to submit their forms on or before July 30 to avoid a last-minute rush and ensure a smooth verification process. The deadline is crucial for voters who wish to be included in the updated electoral rolls. Owaisi stressed that timely submission would help election authorities conduct verification efficiently and reduce the chances of complications during the review process.
To address potential concerns during the verification stage, Owaisi announced that AIMIM has arranged a dedicated team of advocates to provide legal guidance and assistance to voters. If citizens receive notices from election authorities during the verification process, the legal team will be available to help them respond appropriately. This initiative aims to ensure that no eligible voter is excluded from the electoral rolls due to procedural difficulties or lack of proper guidance.
The Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is a periodic exercise conducted by election authorities to update voter lists by adding new eligible voters, removing deceased or shifted voters, and correcting errors in existing entries. The current revision has raised concerns among several communities about documentation requirements and the possibility of eligible voters being left out. Owaisi’s appeal comes amid these concerns, seeking to reassure citizens that their participation in the process is more important than immediate document availability.
Owaisi urged eligible voters not to panic and encouraged them to complete the enumeration process to safeguard their voting rights. He reiterated that the primary objective is to ensure maximum participation in the revision exercise, and that documentary requirements can be addressed during the subsequent verification stages with the help of AIMIM’s legal support team.
