Hyderabad is set to welcome a new Global Capability Centre (GCC) from Lonza AG, a company based in Switzerland. This announcement was made on March 5 after a company team met with Telangana IT Minister D Sridhar Babu. The new center in Hyderabad is expected to create high-value jobs and further connect the city to the global biopharmaceutical industry.
Reports indicate that Lonza has been in discussions with the Telangana IT and industries department for several months. Following the meeting, Sridhar Babu expressed excitement about Lonza’s decision. He highlighted Hyderabad’s strong position in global life sciences due to its robust scientific community, digital strengths, and top-tier manufacturing capabilities.
The minister stated that Lonza’s investment would enhance the state’s appeal as an innovation hub in the biopharmaceutical sector. He emphasized that Hyderabad continues to be a significant location for international life sciences investments.
