The state BJP is working hard to ensure that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visits to Telangana on October 1 and 3 are successful. These visits are important because they have the potential to re-energize the saffron party, which has been relatively inactive lately.
During his first visit, Modi will lay the foundation stones for various development projects, including railway projects in the state. He will also hold a public meeting in Mahbubnagar. On October 3, he will address a public meeting in Nizamabad.
A senior leader from the BJP acknowledged that the party has been inactive for some time but believes that they are in a strong position in the state. Surveys and ground reports indicate an increase in their vote percentage. With the guidance of the national party, they aim to convert this support into votes on election day.
Union Minister for Culture and Tourism and State chief G Kishan Reddy stated that party members and leaders are engaged in the Seva Paksh from September 17 to October 1 to celebrate Modi’s birthday. The Prime Minister’s visit to the state will take place on the last day of this campaign.
Reddy also mentioned that Modi’s visit is just the beginning, as Union Home Minister Amit Shah will also visit the state soon. The party high command has set their sights on the upcoming state elections. In preparation, Reddy has appointed in-charges for 107 assembly constituencies and seven new district in-charges.
During his visit, Modi is expected to target young voters. He will showcase the party’s development agenda and highlight BJP’s initiatives in Telangana that aim to benefit the youth. The Prime Minister will also emphasize the “revolutionary” decisions taken by the NDA government, such as the abrogation of Article 370, the new education policy, successful Covid management, G-20 participation, space exploration, and corruption-free administration.
