Hyderabad: A major anti-drug operation in India led to the arrest of several foreign nationals and prostitutes involved in drug selling. Delhi police, working with Telangana authorities, carried out this successful crackdown.
The operation began after police discovered that three foreign nationals, two Nigerians and a Tanzanian in Delhi, were supplying ganja to a person in Hyderabad and two individuals from Andhra University in Visakhapatnam.
Authorities caught the three women in a service apartment in Visakhapatnam with clients. During questioning, they admitted to being involved in drug sales and deliveries.
Further investigation exposed a structured gang operating from Delhi. Security agencies detained 50 Nigerian nationals linked to this drug trade.
The recent undercover operation showed how the drug network, based in Delhi, had expanded to cities like Gwalior, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam, and Hyderabad.
Around a month ago, the Telangana anti-drug EAGLE force traveled to Delhi. They conducted surveillance in key areas where Nigerian drug peddlers were active over the next four weeks.
After capturing 50 Nigerian drug dealers in Delhi, authorities seized drugs, including cocaine and meth. Officials have not yet revealed the total drug quantity seized.
The Delhi police led this inter-state operation in collaboration with Telangana’s anti-narcotics unit, EAGLE.
