The Government of Telangana has announced a major relief measure for property owners in Greater Hyderabad, introducing a One Time Settlement Scheme (OTS) for the financial year 2025-26. The scheme offers a 90% waiver on accumulated interest on property tax arrears.
Under this scheme, property owners can clear their pending dues by paying the full principal tax amount along with just 10% of the accumulated interest in a single payment. The remaining 90% of the interest will be waived off completely.
The benefit applies to all properties located within the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits. This initiative aims to help residents clear long-pending tax dues without the burden of heavy interest accumulation.
Property owners who have been unable to clear their tax arrears due to accumulated interest charges now have an opportunity to settle their accounts with minimal financial strain. The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of property owners across the city who have pending tax dues.
The GHMC has made the payment process convenient by offering multiple channels for taxpayers. Residents can make payments through the MyGHMC mobile application, which provides a user-friendly interface for tax payments.
Additionally, payments can be made through MeeSeva centers located across the city, providing accessibility to those who prefer offline payment methods. GHMC Customer Service Centers (CSCs) are also available for assistance and payment processing.
For those who prefer online transactions, the GHMC online payment portal at onlinepayments.ghmc.gov.in is available for direct payments from home or office.
Municipal authorities are encouraging property owners to take advantage of this limited-time opportunity to clear their pending property tax dues. The scheme is designed to provide significant financial relief while also helping the municipal corporation recover pending revenues.
Property tax is a crucial source of revenue for the GHMC, which uses these funds for civic infrastructure development, maintenance of roads, sanitation services, and other essential public amenities in the city.
