Hyderabad is witnessing the rapid construction of Google’s largest office facility outside the United States, marking a significant milestone in the city’s emergence as a global technology hub.
The Google Hyderabad campus, located in the Financial District of Gachibowli along the city’s information technology corridor, is expected to be operational by early 2026.
The campus is being developed on a 7.3-acre site that Google acquired in 2019. The facility will feature an impressive built-up structure of approximately 3.0 to 3.3 million square feet, making it one of the most ambitious commercial buildings in India’s technology sector.
The facility is designed to accommodate thousands of employees and is expected to potentially double Google’s current office space in Hyderabad.
The project is being designed by British architectural firm Allford Hall Monaghan Morris (AHMM), renowned for their innovative and sustainable workplace designs. This marks AHMM’s first major office design commission in India.
The campus features a climate-sensitive design with an elliptical form. The structure incorporates features to enhance comfortable, low-energy operation with sunlight, ventilation, and adaptable internal spaces as core design elements.
The development reinforces India’s role in Google’s global innovation strategy and aligns with national objectives to strengthen technological leadership. The project was driven partly by India’s nationwide policy focus on establishing and promoting technological excellence.
The Financial District already hosts large operations from companies including Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple, and continues to attract significant investment and talent.
Construction is currently underway with visible progress on site. After approximately three years of active development, the campus is expected to be completed by early 2026.
Once operational, the facility will serve as a central hub for Google’s engineering, product development, research, and innovation activities in India, accommodating a large portion of its expanding technical workforce.
With robust infrastructure, a large pool of skilled talent, and supportive government policies, Hyderabad has become home to significant operations by major IT and tech companies, contributing to its fast-growing economy.
