The Telangana Police has taken swift action against a police constable who allegedly posted abusive content targeting former MP and MLC Kavita. The department maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards any misconduct or violation of law, particularly in cases involving offenses against women. Upon receiving the complaint, authorities immediately placed the concerned officer under suspension following the proper procedures outlined in the Civil Services Conduct Rules.
The suspended officer has been identified as K. Anil, a Police Constable, who allegedly posted objectionable material on social media. Following the suspension, the Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad has been directed to submit a preliminary enquiry report. Based on this report, an internal departmental enquiry will be initiated and conducted, with punishment to be awarded in accordance with established rules and regulations.
In addition to departmental action, criminal proceedings have been launched against the accused officer. A case bearing Cr. No. 589/2026 has been registered at the Cyber Crimes Police Station, Hyderabad. The FIR invokes Sections 75 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 67 of the Information Technology Act, which deal with offenses related to publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused individual posted the objectionable content using his personal mobile phone. The device has been seized by investigating officers and has been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for detailed examination and analysis. This forensic examination will help establish the digital trail and provide concrete evidence for the ongoing investigation.
The police department has made available both the suspension order and the FIR copy as part of maintaining transparency in the case. Further legal proceedings will continue in accordance with the provisions of law under the invoked sections, with authorities committed to ensuring that appropriate action is taken against those who violate the law and tarnish the image of the police force.
