Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C.V. Anand conducted an inspection visit to Malkam Cheruvu lake in Hyderabad on Saturday to assess the pre-monsoon preparedness measures being implemented across the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits. The visit focused primarily on addressing waterlogging concerns and traffic management strategies ahead of the upcoming rainy season.
During the inspection, Cyberabad Police Commissioner Dr. M. Ramesh and CMC Commissioner Srujana presented a detailed briefing to the DGP regarding the various waterlogging points that have been identified within the Cyberabad area. The commissioners highlighted the key factors that contribute to traffic disruptions during heavy rainfall and outlined the comprehensive measures currently being implemented to address these recurring issues.
The DGP conducted a thorough inspection of the areas surrounding Malkam Cheruvu, examining the preventive steps being taken to minimize public inconvenience during the monsoon season. He made detailed inquiries about the status of pending development works in the vicinity, particularly focusing on the progress of drainage systems and road-widening projects that are crucial for managing rainwater flow.
C.V. Anand provided several practical suggestions to the assembled officials on implementing preventive measures to avoid future waterlogging and traffic-related problems. His recommendations emphasized proactive planning and inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth operations during the challenging monsoon months.
The DGP issued clear directives to police officials to remain on high alert during periods of heavy rainfall.
